Diggies Kiama is a cafe where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
Lovely restaurant near the blow hole and lighthouse. Has indoor and outdoor, exposed seating. Nice water views from outdoors. Lovely menu choices, prompt and friendly service. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Toilets nearby. Level access from street. Prices are competitive for the area.
We arrived at the café @ 11:05am and waited for around 15 minutes because we thought we had to order at the counter. No one approached us or explained that it was table service. When I finally went to the counter, the lady told us we needed to wait at the table for service. After ordering, we waited another 30 minutes for the food. Unfortunately, when my fish and chips arrived, it was cold. I was expecting it to be freshly cooked and served hot, but the fish did not taste fresh at all. To make things worse, when the food arrived, we weren’t given any cutlery. We had to wait another 3 minutes while the staff were busy talking instead of bringing us cutlery first. The service overall was very poor. There were too many staff around, but they didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Some wait staff gave menus together with cutlery, while others just seated customers and expected them to get their own menu because no one was paying proper attention to customers. Overall, the food quality and customer service were very disappointing, and the whole experience felt disorganised.
When you're travelling the visuals can be spectaculer and at Kiama they are. Equally as Important is the food and when the stars are shining that includes taste, presentation and cost. Diggies has it all. The atmosphere is great. Don't miss a serve.
We waited one hour for our sandwiches . We understood that staff were busy. However we were not notified about the wait time and staff did not once in the hour we waited check up on us to confirm if everything was ok. My 91 year old relative started to feel dizzy as she patiently waited for her sandwich. After 45 minutes of waiting my mum asked staff how long we had to wait for, they did not apologise they responded with “10 minutes” after waiting 20 more minutes for our 3 sandwiches the lady that served us did say “sorry for the wait” which was good. When we went to pay the same lady that served us our food who knew that we waited one hour, was standing next to the staff member who was serving us to pay. She did not speak to us or ask her coworker to offer us a discount, food or anything in return.
45 min wait for simple breakfast is ridiculous. Althogh this kind of compensates by very polite and well trained staff, all of us left this place with bitter aftertaste. Place is nothing special, prices seem a bit overinflated for what it is.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
