What people say
Courtyard Restaurant & Bar is one of the most popular spots on the University of Sydney campus — a perfect place to relax, meet friends, or enjoy a casual drink after class. The atmosphere is lively and bright, with both indoor seating under a skylight and a spacious outdoor courtyard surrounded by greenery. It’s especially lovely on sunny afternoons when students gather to chat, study, or unwind. The menu offers a good variety of affordable meals, coffee, and drinks. During Happy Hour (Monday to Friday, 5 pm – close), they serve $10 wings, mezze platters, and discounted drinks — a great deal for students. The bar also often hosts themed events, live music, and campus festivals, making it a fun social hub for the university community. What makes Courtyard special is its atmosphere — it feels open, friendly, and welcoming to everyone. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, sharing cocktails with friends, or just sitting outside with a cold drink under the pink Vodka Cruiser umbrellas, it’s a great spot to enjoy campus life. Overall, Courtyard Restaurant & Bar blends great food, good prices, and a relaxed social vibe right in the heart of USYD. Definitely one of the best hangout places on campus!
The Courtyard Restaurant and Bar is on the grounds on Sydney University and is a perfect meeting point for friends to gather and have lunch. The food is pretty decent for a cafe style restaurant and they make pizza as well which is covered with a thick layer of cheese. They are a licensed bar and serve alcohol on tap as well as Pimms by the jug. There is lots of seating available inside and outside and is totally wheelchair accessible. There are public toilets inside as well and also has an accessible and parent friendly restroom. The desserts are pretty good. You MUST try the brownie sandwich which is stuffed with salted caramel; so delicious. #letsguide #brunch
Really nice ambience for a student eatery area. The place is operated by USU so you can claim a discount if you are a member. The price is not too shady for the fair taste of their food. You could mix pasta varieties. I just wished the food was hotter. It was a cold day with lukewarm pasta. 🙍🏾
Had the gnocchi. I mean it's alright, nothing exceptional. The lamb ragu was very tender. I found the sauce a bit too salty.
Worst matcha of my life. Tastes like milk and sand, lost my money and calories for the day. $8 for straight trash. Would rather drink puddle water.
