St Jude Cafe is a dog-friendly cafe in Redfern.
St Jude Café is a true hidden gem tucked away in Redfern. From the moment we arrived, we loved the cosy and charming vibe of the place, especially the cute outdoor seating, which adds so much character and makes it a lovely spot to relax. We ordered coffee and were genuinely impressed—it’s easily some of the best coffee we’ve had in the area. Along with that, we tried the mocha pancake and the cauliflower tacos, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The pancake was rich and indulgent without being overpowering, while the cauliflower tacos were full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and really satisfying. The staff deserve a special mention—they were lively, friendly, and made us feel very welcome, which added a lot to the overall experience. Overall, we loved our visit to St Jude Café. With great coffee, tasty food, a cute vibe, and warm service, it’s definitely a place worth seeking out if you’re in Redfern. Highly recommended!
my favourite brunch place in darlinghurst/surry hills!!! I’ve tried many of their food options and I’ve always found their dishes delicious and delivered hot. the staff are all genuinely amazing,,,.. from the baristas to the servers to the takeout orders, everyone at the st Jude’s team is friendly and capable of managing such a bustling and well loved cafe in every single way !!! I highly recommend their iced cold brew, bacon and egg roll as well as their benny
I personally like this place because I first saw it on Instagram and decided to come. I was quite impressed. I liked the coffee—it has a unique taste. The food menu is big and very varied. That day, I had the classic pumpkin & corn fritters, and my friend had the brunch bowl. The rice was a bit undercooked, but maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be. Overall, I really liked the coffee and the café atmosphere.
I visited St. Jude Cafe and had a really great experience. It’s a lovely street-side café with a relaxed and welcoming vibe. The coffee was excellent—freshly brewed with a rich, smooth taste, clearly made with care. We tried the pancakes and the cauliflower tacos, and both were absolutely spot on. The pancakes were soft, fluffy, and perfectly balanced in flavor, while the cauliflower tacos were fresh, well-seasoned, and surprisingly satisfying. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared. Overall, everything was genuinely good—from the food to the coffee to the location. It’s the kind of place you’d happily come back to, whether for a quick coffee stop or a relaxed meal. Definitely worth visiting if you’re around the area.
There are a few things that St Jude gets right: it's a cosy little spot on a gorgeous sunlit street that makes for an incredible ambience and relaxed vibe, and the food is a hit every single time, very reminiscent of the kind of brunch fare you'd get in Bali (which is inspired by Aussie cafe culture anyway, so kind of a chicken/egg situation here). Seriously, anything you order is likely to be good, but the french toast eggs benny and corn fritters are particular standouts! What misses the mark: service. Inattentive, almost dismissive, and never quite warm. This time in particular we had to flag the waitress down multiple times, ask for cutlery after the food had been served, and my friend had to bring the drink they made wrongly (it was regular milk instead of soy and she's lactose intolerant) back to the coffee counter to get it fixed, only to be met with a barista who looked visibly annoyed and inconvenienced. Like... c'mon. I get that there's busy/peak periods but this has been me and my friends' experiences consistently. The fact that the management only replies to glowing reviews and never addresses comments about the service is also poor form. Please take the constructive criticism! You guys could be a 5-star spot!!
