Hillside Hotel

The manager needs to allow the staff to do their job without interruption. I ordered a Jamison's whiskey and dry when the manager interrupted and told the staff member to use a different bottle from the one she had selected to make my drink. I couldn't hear the conversation that took place but she was clearly frustrated by the interruption, and the drink was $12:60. I happily paid and left a tip, then realised the drink was either not Jamison's or was watered down. I do not say this lightly as l have spent 30 years of my 56 years working in all aspects of hotel management and fine dining restaurants. I was sober on this evening and would rather not leave a negative comment if at all. I spoke to another staff member in the sports bar section who straight away offered me a replacement drink. I declined and left the premises along with the barely touched original purchase. I go out occasionally, always to eat or for social interraction, but left dissallusioned. What has happened to the great bars and people skills required for success in this field?

Great night out - highly recommend garlic prawn linguini - huge size & fab taste ….. great cocktails too !!! Table of 7 & everyone commented on how big their meals were …… & would come back to try second options on menu ….

Had a great experience at Hillside Hotel in Castle Hill. Ordered the creamy mushroom and chicken penne — absolutely excellent. Very saucy, nice amount of cheese, great portion size, and even without spice, the flavors were spot on. Also tried the supreme pizza — good portion as well, tasted alright, but a bit of spice would’ve elevated it. The meat on the pizza lacked flavor and could’ve been better. But honestly, the highlight of the night was the staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly — everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, which really added to the vibe. The music was well balanced and not overwhelming, creating a fantastic ambience overall. Special shoutout to Helena at the bar who helped us with the cocktails, and to Luke for checking up on us during the meal. The Hills cocktail was excellent too. Definitely coming back!

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service! The pub has a lively vibe, perfect for a night out with friends or a casual meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommend!

We recently celebrated my dad’s 50th birthday at the Oasis Room at Hillside Hotel, and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, the experience exceeded all our expectations. The venue itself is stunning – vintage, spacious, and stylish with a relaxed atmosphere that made everyone feel at home. The Oasis Room had just the right balance of elegance and comfort, with plenty of room for mingling, speeches, and dancing. The staff were incredible – attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. They made sure everything ran smoothly and were so accommodating to our requests, even with the finer details. The cocktail-style food was a hit with all our guests! Delicious, fresh, and well-portioned – no one went home hungry. We really appreciated the flexibility and the quality of the service. All in all, Hillside Hotel helped us create a truly memorable evening for our dad’s milestone celebration. We highly recommend the Oasis Room for any private function – it’s a hidden gem in Castle Hill! We hired our own DJ, minimal decor needed (the venue spoke for itself - and we just added little details), and catered for 130 people. Thank you to the amazing team at Hillside Hotel!
