Ted Horwood Reserve is a well-equipped park in Baulkham Hills with a cafe, a playground, BBQ facilities and plenty of shade. Dogs are welcome on-leash, kept clear of playgrounds and sports fields, with toilets on hand. It is a comfortable, sociable spot for a relaxed walk. A pleasant on-leash park with good facilities.
Under the Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs must be on-leash at all times in all parks and public places. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of children's playground equipment and food preparation areas, from active sports fields during organised sport, public bathing areas, school grounds, and child care centres. Dog faeces must be removed immediately. (Source: The Hills Shire Council — Stay out of the Doghouse, thehills.nsw.gov.au.)
The approach to the ground and parking is quite crappy.. The fields are okay, a bit uneven and patchy at places. The canteen is open on game days which is good. This ground needs a bit of care and uplift.
This place has multiple fields and tennis courts. It also has a children's play area. There is a toilet in the vicinity of the play area. Some stretches of walking trails are also there. This place needs a little more upkeep. Despite being located in the midst of bountiful nature, the noise from the streets come in the way of enjoying the place. Right now some development work is in progress. That is why access to some places has been restricted.
The cricket pitch here has been greatly improved in the last 6 months. Good work 'grounds keeper'. There's actually quite a lot of sports facilities here...cricket oval and nets, tennis, netball, basketball etc. And also a great children's park plus clean BBQ area and shaded/undercover seating area.
This reserve is not only a great sport area for the local community but is also a great asset as a green space for the community. Offering ovals, netball courts, tennis courts and kids play equipment and great facilities like undercover picnic tables and toilets. We were pleasantly surprised to see how green everything is at the moment too!
Great park a little hard to navigate if you have never been here before. There is also 2 carpark not just the one Google say is there
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
