What people say
Lake Parramatta Reserve is a fantastic spot for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The bushwalking tracks are a real highlight, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful escape that feels far removed from the city. It’s also an excellent location for fishing, with plenty of good spots around the lake, and kayaking here is a great experience thanks to the calm waters and natural surroundings. There's plenty of Bass to catch, when they are on the bite. I usually catch one good one, 70% of the time. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. A proper kayak launch site from the beach would make a big difference, as the current option at the old jetty can be quite slippery and difficult to use. Its too high and dangerous to launch. I ended up in the water last time. It would also be helpful to have designated parking spaces specifically for unloading kayaks, making access much more convenient as its impossible to unload a yak on the weekend. Additionally, the children’s playground facilities could use an upgrade. Compared to other nearby parks like Putney Beach, they feel quite outdated and could benefit from more modern equipment and features. Overall, Lake Parramatta Reserve is a beautiful and enjoyable destination with a lot to offer, but a few thoughtful improvements would make it even better.
Great place to enjoy very close to everything great for swimming & bushwalking
A great place for a picnic, bbq, swim in the lake or walk around the lake. Parking is available inside or just outside the park entry. It is very convenient to Parramatta and even just a walk from north Parramatta
Nice walk trail with a small beach for kids to play. Nice place to kayak or paddle as well . There were lifeguards to monitor the place. But if you don't know how to swim I won't suggest getting into this beach as it's quite deep. Would like to thank the lifeguards here 1000 times. They plunged at right moment and are very vigilant.
A beautiful nature reserve with a large lake where you can swim (in the summer, when supervised), kayak, or walk along the bushwalking trails. This is the perfect place to "escape" from the noise of the city and enjoy the fresh air.
