Yarramundi Reserve sits on the river with shallow water access that's safe enough for both kids and dogs to enjoy. The off-leash area is unfenced, so recall is important, but the riverside setting makes it a popular spot for swimming and wading. There's parking and toilets available.

Thos has been a local swimming hole since the dawn of time. It's been kept in its natural state, just the way I and many locals like it. I HATE when naturally beautiful and private places like this get landscaped to death! So if youre looking for park benches, bbqs etc, and mowed green flats...this place is not for you. If you're looking for a great place for adults and kids to enjoy nature in all its glory, with minimal urban intervention, you'll love it. Good for chilling out and having all sorts of water fun: swimming, kayaking, fishing etc. Unfortunately, water is polluted so I'd think twice before eating anything you catch there. Bring a picnic and relax on the sand or in the shallows. Not sure about toilets on the Yarra side. There is a small parking lot.
Considering it's called a reserve I thought it would be a bit quieter but actually it was nice to see families hanging out and enjoying the river, the little beach area and the fields around it. Its a beautiful little spot of nature to unwind for half an hour while on a long drive and it was good to see that there was a toilet there too.
Cute little spot to go for a dip and go kayaking. Great place to take dogs and go for a short walk around the reserve. Parking was accessible and not crowded.
Exploring the Hawkesbury Riverside area on a sunny Saturday, I discovered the hidden gem of Yarramundi Reserve. This tranquil spot offers the perfect setting for walks and relaxation. The slow-moving water makes it especially ideal for young children to splash and play safely. During my visit, I watched families with their dogs frolicking in the shallow water, creating a cheerful atmosphere. The reserve features walkable riverbanks and dry areas along the waterway, perfect for strolling. The scenic beauty of the location creates a peaceful, calming environment that's wonderful for family picnics. While the extremely shallow water isn't suitable for swimming or water sports, it provides a serene backdrop for a relaxing day out. The reserve truly captures the natural beauty of the Hawkesbury region.
A great place to visit and walk and explore. Picnic tables to have a picnic on. The toilets are one of those bio toilets. Definitely bring your own sanitizer as no running water was available. Aldo bring your own drinks as per above. Room for fishing and swimming with a sandy beach area as well. Dog leash free areas along the river bank. Remember to clean up after your dog.
