Dirty Red Glebe is a cafe in Glebe with outdoor seating. It hasn't yet been confirmed as dog-friendly, so it's best to check with the venue before visiting.
In an age where cafes love to place the customer on the forefront of battle, I appreciated Dirty Red’s work offering my friend and I a place at the lookout — the courtyard was so private and quaint, I was rewarded by hearing every word come out of my friend’s mouth. Thank you for your service! As for the food, I feel replenished however I DID surrender $39 total for a goodness bowl and orange juice. Mind you, I also had to add in my own source of protein so do keep that in mind. So yeah, I was moderately satisfied with the feast however guilty I felt ordering that extra drink on top of the bill. The service was fly and I’m glad to get familiar with what I could only assume is a fan favourite of Sydney’s inner west.
Visited this cafe for breakfast today with some friends. All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and coffee. Great service. Great coffee. Beautiful courtyard out the back. The food was very fresh and well presented. We were all impressed with the menu. I loved that the yoghurt wasn’t artificially sweet. Will definitely return!
A spacious spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly service and food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the fish tacos — crispy battered flathead tucked into soft shells, loaded with fresh lettuce, smashed avo, a kick of Tabasco, and creamy sour cream. They were okay! The coffee, though, was really good.
Great local gem. Cchilled, lowkey cafe vibe with a lovely open outdoor area out back - perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends. Had the smashed avo with a long black, and the fried breas was delicious. Spot on. Friendly service and a cosy feel make it a standout in the area.
The food itself was good overall and nicely presented — no complaints there. However, a few things took away from the experience. The scrambled eggs were completely unseasoned, which was surprising given how simple that is to get right. A little salt and pepper would’ve gone a long way. It was also a very hot day and the table water was warm — at the very least, some ice would’ve been appreciated. Lastly, there was a sneaky 10% Saturday surcharge added to the bill. This wasn’t clearly communicated and is something I haven’t encountered before, so it felt a bit off-putting. The total bill came to $77 for two meals, one coffee, and one juice, which felt a little steep considering the above issues. There’s definitely potential here, but attention to these small details would make a big difference to the overall experience. Will I return? Probably not.
