Had a picnic, 3 magpies got through our food 🙁 The view was immaculate and it was not too crowded! Free parking and easy to access. Be careful of Blue Bottle Jellyfishes as a lot of them wash up on shore near the waves.

Bateau Bay is easily one of my favorite beaches in the area. It’s often overlooked, which means it remains wonderfully quiet. Its proximity to Wyrrabalong National Park adds a wild, untouched feel to the beach. If you walk south along the expansive rock shelf, you’ll quickly find yourself feeling miles away from everything. The beach at Bateau Bay is a beautiful mix of golden sands and rocky outcrops, offering something for everyone. Whether you’re a surfer looking for the perfect wave or someone who prefers a quiet spot to unwind with a good book, this beach has you covered. The gentle curve of the bay creates a sheltered area, making it ideal for families with young kids who want to paddle in the shallows or explore the lively rock pools. For those seeking adventure, the coastal walking tracks are a must. With Wyrrabalong National Park bordering Bateau Bay, the trails wind through native bushland and along cliffs, revealing stunning ocean views. Crackneck Lookout is a local favorite, offering panoramic views of the coastline. It’s especially breathtaking during whale watching season when you might catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures migrating along the coast.

This beach is one of the most family friendly beaches at the coast. It's got some smaller rock pools for toddlers and great spots to around reef to take a dive. Just be cautious when swimming or walking around the reef to not hurt your feet from sharp barnacles.

Great nice and clean beach. The beach isn’t patrolled but it has a medium sized area to swim. Plenty of rocky areas which some kids love to jump off. This is also the spot where the hang gliders and paragliders land once they take off from Crackneck lookout. Toilets also at this location next to the carpark.

Gorgeous little bay at the bottom of a short but steep paved pathway. Friendly locals 🫶🏽
