The owner and staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great, surrounded by gardens. I will definitely visit again. - This is my second visit and I didn't know this was a pet friendly cafe. If so, this will be my family's favorite place from now on. I'm sure I'll be visiting often with my dogs in the future 😍🩷
We recently had pleasure having lunch at this cute cafe. Not sure where ‘heritage’ is but we definitely enjoyed the lunch. We were driving from Sydney to the north, and had 3min detour to avoid the traffic on Hexam bridge. It is in the garden centre, so plenty of flowers and greenery around. Outdoor seating area is better for us because we enjoyed the view. Food was great as well. We are not coffee drinkers but the house made peach tea wS good. We ordered salmon bennie and Burrata bruschetta. Their sourdough toast was cooked perfectly and sauce on the Benedict was rich and delicious. Bruschetta was good as well, except it has only little amount of Burrata cheese…. It only gave a hint of texture but not full creamy flavour. We also ordered brownies as well, and it’s presentation was perfect! The cherry sauce was excellent and went well with chocolate flavour and ice cream. With table service and helpful staff, overall experience was great and we will visit there if we’re passing by again.
We have only recently moved to the area and were so happy to be introduced to this cafe by our new friends. The food is beyond delicious, particularly the 'Sirloin Steak Sandwich', and the 'Roast Pumpkin, Fetta & Pomegranate Salad'. My husband really enjoyed the 'Shakshouka' and we've both enjoyed delicious breakfast options also. The quality of the ingredients in all of their dishes is so fresh. On a sunny day, we have sat outside in the garden and it's really a beautiful way to start the day, enjoy lunch or capture the last of the sunshine for cake and coffee. On a couple of occasions now, we have been seated inside (due to rain). Inside is cosy, we prefer the verandah area, which has a lovely garden feel. On each occasion, the staff have been friendly and knowledgeable when asked about the menu choices. Nothing is a bother for them, even when very busy (which they often are). If you value great food, and fresh produce is your thing, then this is a cafe that will soon become a favourite! 1st Photo (Shakshouka) 2nd Photo (Roast Pumpkin, Fetta & Pomegranate Salad) 3rd Photo (Sirloin Steak Sandwich, with Caramelised Onion, Beetroot Relish...and lots more (photo doesn't do it justice)
January 2026 - Once again the LOST Fraternity car club gathered at the Heritage Gardens Café, located at Flower Power Ashtonfield. The café, as always, impressed us with both the exceptional service and the high quality of the food provided. Special thanks go to Kathleen, Andy, and the entire team for making our visit enjoyable. You will be seeing us a few times during 2026. Thank you.... The LOST Fraternity car club enjoyed a delightful breakfast at Heritage Gardens Cafe this morning. This charming venue provided the perfect setting for our gathering, ensuring a memorable experience for all involved. Given the ever-changing size of our group, the staff at Heritage Gardens Cafe demonstrated remarkable flexibility and hospitality. On this occasion, with a party of 16, we were graciously given access to the private dining room set amidst the gardens. The food and drinks were served promptly, arriving hot and fresh. The entire team was exceptionally pleasant and attentive, making sure our needs were met throughout the visit. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Heritage Gardens Cafe to anyone visiting the Ashtonfield, Thornton, or East Maitland area. It is an excellent venue for both small and larger groups seeking great food, friendly service, and a welcoming environment.
