Sotto On West is a cafe in North Sydney where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
I've been visiting this place since I lived in St Leonards, but now I go whenever I can as a bit further out. Food is always good, nothing fancy just some good simple breakfast with no fus. The coffee is great and so are the baked goods. The staff is also generally very nice. But I'm not a fan of them allowing dogs inside the cafe. Otherwise overall its my fav cafe to go for brekkie and coffee with a good book.
This place has one of the best bacon and egg rolls. It doesn’t over play its hand, it’s not overloaded with fancy sauces and toppings, just bacon, egg, cheese and a delicious crispy curried hash brown. Sometimes less is more. Subtract. If you get it, I recommend getting it on Turkish bread. Adding the hash brown and cheese is a non negotiable. It’s such a generous serve, I often share with my wife, but if you’re hungry you won’t be disappointed.
Nice specialty coffee. The shashuka egg was yummo. Food is served quick. Very reasonable price. Great place for coffee chat.
We started off already super upset as all we wanted was an iced matcha. After a lengthy pilgrimage up the steep hill to this tiny cafe, we were seated at a small table with not a single air conditioning unit in sight. But of course, spirits were still high as our excitiment to drink out matchas was ringing in the air. But to our devistating suprise, matcha was not on the menu. Dissapointment swallowed us whole, and we felt a pit in our stomachs. However, that pit would be able to be filled, by our delicious meals that we just ordered and still had high hopes for. The 3 egg omelete looked scrumptious as it arrived to our table. But wait.. what is that we find. A hair. A black hair that was definely not ours. Disgusting. Choosing to look past this monstrocity, we continued to eat the omelette. But what do we find. ANOTHER HAIR. WHAT KIND OF ESTABLISHMENT IS THIS!!!!!!!!! Super duper angry.... but the avo toast was good, and they didn't make us pay for the omlette.
Macchiato: Bold, clean espresso with just enough milk to smooth it out. Great temperature. Cappuccino: Silky foam, balanced flavour, and nicely textured milk. Avocado: Fresh, ripe, and well-seasoned. Bacon & Egg + Chilli Roll: Crispy bacon, soft egg, and a good chilli kick without overpowering.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
