What people say
We had a wonderful experience at Oski Cafe. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable right away. The latte and iced chocolate were both excellent. We really enjoyed the food, the chilli scrambled eggs were full of flavour, and the fish with scrambled eggs was beautifully cooked. The avocado was fresh, and the salad dressing absolutely hit the spot. Overall, a fantastic cafe with great food and genuinely friendly service. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend! The food was fantastic — everything tasted super fresh. The avocado toast had perfectly ripe avocado, great bread, and perfectly poached eggs. My flat white was also spot on. I didn’t even need to look at the menu; he simply asked what I liked and made me the perfect breakfast. The café has a bit of a hole-in-the-wall vibe in the best way. I believe I met the owner — such a friendly, charming guy. I’m hoping to stop by again on this work trip, and if not, I can’t wait to come back in the future.
Absolutely the WORST CAFE EXPERIENCE in Sydney. (Visited October 2025) RUDE, AGGRESSIVE, and completely UNPROFESSIONAL CHEF. I ordered the Chili Jam Eggs but received Tabasco sauce instead. Nobody informed me they had run out of chili jam when I placed the order. When I asked whether it was Tabasco, the staff admitted they substituted the sauce without telling me. The chef then came out, snatched the plate and aggressively questioned me as if I was the problem. No apology. Only blame, saying I should have asked earlier even though I only realized after checking other reviews showing the dish is supposed to be completely different. Serving Tabasco instead of chili jam without telling me and then sarcastically saying “You didn’t like it?” was outright mockery. Shockingly rude. Completely unprofessional behavior for a cafe in Sydney that charges full price for substituted items. I spent $24 just to be served Tabasco sauce. Ridiculous. We did not ask for a refund, nor did we raise our voices. We only wanted to know what we were being served and to receive a simple apology for serving the wrong item. Any customer has the right to question what they are being fed when it is not what they ordered. That is a basic consumer right, not an unreasonable request. The fact that this turned into such a hostile situation speaks volumes about this cafe’s attitude toward customers. The chef’s extreme overreaction clearly shows he knew something was wrong. It honestly made me wonder if they assumed I wouldn’t even know what chili jam is or notice the difference. Slow service and zero accountability. I ordered food and coffee at 11:20 AM. After twenty minutes, staff asked if we even ordered food. Another twenty minutes passed before the first dish arrived. Forty minutes total waiting time for simple breakfast dishes like chili jam eggs and an omelette. My coffee was cold and already finished before the food arrived. Still not a single apology. I am sure they would have blamed us again by saying we did not specifically ask for the coffee to be served with the food. Discrimination cannot be ignored. Only my dish was altered without notice. Only I was confronted and treated aggressively. Being publicly confronted and practically pushed to leave was humiliating and completely unnecessary. This cafe lacks honesty, hospitality and respect for customers. There are reviews from over six years ago describing the same rude and aggressive behavior we experienced. This cafe has shown no improvement over the years, so do not assume your experience will be any different. Avoid this cafe in Sydney. There are many better cafes nearby with real service and “real chili jam”.
Oski, and its owner Eric, are the best! The food and coffee are absolutely delicious, the vibes are warm and welcoming. Come here to meet a real Kirribilli local, listen to great music and have a wonderful conversation. Undoubtedly the best cafe around!
Eric is super kind. His kindness made my day happy. The food also tastes very good. nutty flat white , nice cheese buger and special menu 👍 I went here twice because it was delicious. Oski cafe gave me good memories in Sydney. (The beach he recommended is the most memorable place in my trip.) Thank you so much😆
