What people say
Expansive beautiful setting for car shows and seeing trains & planes. Great spot for picnics and some family sports/games. Toilets are fine but not terrific (limited soap/water/hand dryers) easy to park at or around or access by trains (every 30mins each way)
Accessible Fun! ~ What an exciting park for accessibility!!! There is a wheelchair swing which is motorised and operated by a universal access key. There is also a semi-accessible flying fox which can accommodate an adult. The rider is strapped into the chair with a seatbelt. It's located right next to an unmodified standing flying fox. There's a lovely playground with chain swings and honestly more to play on than most parks! There's also a round rope swing, a big climbing spider and a lot of parking. This park is nearby Tempe station, which only accommodates those able to use stairs.
It was a great park with a lot of Indigenous amenities with along a beautiful walk down to the river. Playground for kids to enjoy. They were a statue standing piece next to the garden. Generously, they were a ping pong table for us to play near the shade area. There is a sports field that you can enjoy. Toilets are available. BBQ area for family or friends. A river stream when we walked onto the bridge. Conclusion The park itself is massive to be out walking with you dog or having a good time.
Gough Whitlam Park is a large open space with something for everyone. Great playground, cafe and lots of places to explore. Gough Whitlam park has a fenced oval, large open space, paths and tracks to explore the wetlands along the Cook’s River. The playground has plenty of equipment to keep your kids amused. A new playground area was added to the park in August 2015 and it includes lots of equipment suitable for all abilities. With great swings, plus one of the best flying foxes we’ve seen, this is a fantastic addition to what is already one of our favourite parks in area. One warning though – at the time of writing, the new playground has not been fenced so there is access to the river. Facilities Playground (fenced) Toilets facilities Parking Shade Cafe Sporting facilities (Basketball Court, Oval and Cricket net) On the Cooks River Drinking Fountain Accessible from Tempe station
We love this park. It has a beautiful bush walk and a great park food for toddlers as well as the big kids. It’s also great for bike rides.
