Bean to Heaven

Bean to Heaven is a lovely cafe. The staff are attentive and friendly, the food is nice and it's in a good location, particularly for those who frequent Steel Park or wish to get lunch at the end of their Cooks River walk. Also, it's dog-friendly. I went here twice - once on 27/04/2026, the other on Mother's Day 2026 (when one staff member said "happy Mother's Day" to my mum!). The first time, I ordered a pulled pork sandwich (photo in my review); the second time, I ordered the avocado toast (photo in my review) and a small caramel milkshake. I wouldn't recommend the avocado toast, as I wasn't satiated after that meal, but I would recommend the pulled pork sandwich and the caramel milkshake (I was satiated after eating/drinking both of those). The only downside is the noise from the buses along Illawarra Rd. Otherwise, I've enjoyed both my experiences here.

Cute unassuming cafe near the park. Lots of people bring their dogs and sit outside. Delicious coffee by Marionette and the breakfast was really yummy too. We had the ham hock and egg roll and the classic hot dog. Good quality ingredients makes the simple meals shine.

This cafe is a modern take on a retro milk bar, complete with the colourful streamers when you enter. I couldn’t go past the breakfast hotdog, with avo and scrambled egg with a great quality dog. I also tried the classic dog. It has sauerkraut, pickles and mustard. Super yum. Coffee was perfect, great music, lovely staff, can’t wait to try out their milkshakes next. Quite a few seats inside and out too.

Good food, good coffee, friendly staff. Had the granola, a batch brew, and a piccolo to take away. Granola was exactly what I hoped for; fruit extremely fresh and beautifully laid out. Batch brew was very good, I suspect the cup wasn’t pre-heated, but that meant that it was immediately at drinkable temperature. Piccolo was perfectly done, just the thing to warm my hands and sip on my windy walk through the park afterwards.

Great coffee and even better atmosphere. We appreciate the hard work that goes into running a quality cafe, and Bean to Heaven is definitely hitting the mark. Friendly staff and a perfect spot for a morning brew near Steel Park. Cheers from the team at Handy Imports!
