An unexpected pleasure of taste that matches the vibrancy of the outside decor. Loved the cheesy ridged toasties that definitely was a worthy contender to a certain other toastie shop in the capital. The guy serving was great, friendly and on the talkative side, and the young guys were also pretty friendly also. Worth the walk, and the return to!
Who knew that jaffles had made a comeback! Glad we decided to visit this morning. The colourful exterior caught my attention previously and this had been on my “to do”. The toasties were great. We had the lamb ragu and the bbq chicken. Both jam packed with filling and very tasty. Will return to try some of the others.
The triple cheese toastie was very nice - the chicken and thyme I wasn’t a fan of, it was a let down. The gems were the best I’ve ever had, salted so well and enough crunch but somehow also super soft. Also wonderful service! The toasts are extremely pricey though, considering what you’re purchasing.. it’s toast… one of the main reasons I couldn’t give a 5.
Easily the best and most unique toasties in the world. The bread is killer and fillings are YUM. Used to be my local until my wife and I moved south, but whenever we return Ian always remembers us. He’s a legend and Toastettes is legendary.
Toastettes has been my local for 7 years since Ian opened. Him and the staff do an amazing job. A friendly welcome where locals and newbies get to experience wonderful toasties filled with home made ingredients. I recommend starting with the Lamb, Rosemary and Pea (add an egg, trust me 😉). A wide selection of toasties to choose from and the coffee is made with a smile!
