Windsor Beach is a dog-friendly beach in Freemans Reach with on-leash walking areas. Just 500m away, Deerubbin Park is a nearby option to stop in after your walk.
Dogs are permitted on-leash under the NSW Companion Animals Act. Hawkesbury City Council states dogs must be on a lead at all times in public places except in designated off-leash parks. This venue is not a designated off-leash area. (Source: Hawkesbury City Council — Responsible Pet Ownership, hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au.)
Nice Spot on Side of Hawkesbury River. This is situated in Windsor which is north west of Sydney. Takes about hour drive from city of sydney. Not very busy, so you can enjoy kayaking or kids can enjoy playing sand. Wont go swimming here because water looks mucky. Enough picnic tables and electric bbq in adjoining park. Also there is a small cafe. Kids playing pad and plenty of walking area. Toilets available. Dog friendly. But please dog owers dispose doggy do bags properly !! If you live near by or passing through and have some time to spare, it is worth visiting. Great place for little birds too.
Hi guys just on my day off (Friday) me and my brother visited Windsor river(macquarie park ) .we randomly thought of a plan and as sydney weather is too hot .So jumping on the river was the best option for us.so we two visited over there by train from Auburn .It was just like an hour travel time and you can easily access the park by walk or bus.just from windsor station its like 15 minutes walk barely for us .It was awesome feelings like watching the sydney crowded areas to peaceful areas with lots of antiques which were from 1930 Ad.Many historical things can be known over there. You can all find the history videos below. CHANGING RIVER ( HAWKESBURY RIVER) AND THE BRIDGE WHICH WAS BUILT ON 1935 And NOW CHANGED SO MANY STRUCTURES ON 2025 AD BUT STILL BUILDINGS BRIDGES ARE ON SAME ARCHITECT.IT WAS SURREAL FEELING TO VISIT SUCH PLACES .First of all we were confused that the water may be dirty but now we just explore over there it was so clean we took a swim for around 2 hours which was so relaxing after hectic work. There are plenty of things to do.its an open area for camping as well there is children park (construction going on) along with the cafe after entrance gate of macquarie park.Plenty of parking areas.Easily accessible bathrooms and waters.NOTE CONSTRUCTION IS GOING ON .just be careful with that.Me along with my friends had a good day and Friday over there.Next time we will be sure there with camping group.Cheers❤️✌️
The rivers were dirty and is unsuitable to swim but can swim at own risk. Can bbq and have fun though. The rivers sand are great for fun and lots of parking. Good for a weekend fun.
Took my 9 month old pup here today and she loved the water she was on her long lead to explore, There was 3 big dogs didnt have leads on we was at a distance and not long after they come running over to my dog, they just stood there and let it happen we had to yell out for the owners to grab them..keep them on bloody leads if you can't recall your dogs so annoying..my pup started to growl and things could of went wrong and someone or a dog could of been hurt...common sense owners...
My kids attempted a mini pool, please try help make it bigger when you visit!!
