What people say
A great little area for the kids to swim & play in. We arrived around 9am so got prime parking, any later & you'll have trouble finding a spot. Super easy access down to the creek and a cool borrowing area. We borrowed a boogieboard so the kids could board down the creek where it connects to the ocean. There is limited shade so make sure to pack a tent or something. Overall a perfect morning spent there & very refreshing, we also managed to see some dolphins swimming quite close at the beach.
Beautiful spot between the creek and bay. Safe for kids and shade available
We love this place for our little kids (6 and 3), water is calm, often shade from the trees or near the creek and often you can float around the creek. Just needs some proper toilets, very popular spot
Amazing, beach is lovely, locals are nice. Never seen a stingray except for when some locals accidentally caught one that they immediately safely released. Perfect for everyone. Lagoon/creek is amazing when open, waves are often small and quality is amazing. Danger at beach is highly uncommon. Amazing sealife. Beach is at worst when cold, creek/lagoon is closed and when there is excessive seaweed which doesn't happen much, let alone altogether. Perfect spot, never super busy. They have a collection of floaties, boogy boards, ect. for use as long as you return. Amazing spot. Overall amazing
I used to visit Callala Bay every year when I was a kid. I hadn't been for about 10 years and recently visited. It's just as beautiful and peaceful as I had once remembered. So grateful I can comeback after all this time for a swim now with my own children. They were very impressed by the communal beach toys box at the top of the beach. Love the community feel here!
