Recently changed owners and they were talking about changing the menu, so I can't speak to that. But I love this quirky chilled Bohemian cafe in Fingal, decent simple food, dog friendly (bonus points), and a good cocktail range. They sometimes have a performer playing guitar and singing which adds to the laid back atmosphere

Horrible, don’t waste your time or money. New name, new owners, new experience, unfortunately not a good one. Waited about 45min for 3 meals and the place wasn’t even that busy. When the food arrived it was overwhelming disappointing. We ordered a”Buddha Bowl”, Nachos and the chicken burger. Probably the worst presentation and lowest quality of food I’ve had on the whole Tweed / GC area period. Nachos were basically some store bought nacho chips sprinkled with a tablespoon of dry tasteless mince and a teaspoon of cheese, buddha bowl was tiny, basic and an embarrassment to the “chef”, chicken burger would have been ok at $10 but for more than double that you’d expect more than a bun and some fried chicken. Added to that it wasn’t cheap at about $25 per meal. Staff were indifferent and gave the impression that they really didn’t want to be there. Such a disappointment as I’m sure many others share my view that we hoped the new owners were bringing some good food to Fingal. Magical spot but horrible food and experience. New owners, I don’t think the restaurant trade is for you.

Salt & Stone at Fingal is an absolute gem! The food is consistently fantastic, the prices are refreshingly reasonable & the atmosphere is something really special. Sitting there looking over the Tweed River is pure peace - it’s calm, beautiful & the perfect escape. The cafe has such an eclectic, original vibe that feels both welcoming & thoughtfully curated. The service is always excellent, friendly without being rushed & you instantly feel at home. I live on the other side of the river & love coming over for breakfast. This is my go to place when I’m craving tranquility. The new owners are doing an amazing job & it truly shows in every detail. Highly recommend.

Ordered a Buddha Bowl, Nachos, a Vege Wrap and a couple of smoothies. To start, it took almost an hour to get our food. We went to Cubby House in Chinderah the previous day and not just the food was 10 times better, we had more generous portions (so much avocado and amazing eggs), and the meals came in less than 10 minutes. Service was superior in every aspect too. When the food finally came, they forgot the Nachos. The Buddha bowl had a “smell” of avocado, one poached egg (it seems that they are trying to save everywhere), and a very basic salad with no sauce, and around 10 grains of quinoa. Basically, 24 dollars for an egg, a teaspoon of avocado and some spinach. A 12 dollars smoothie (Matcha) will result in a small glass of watery smoothie. The tropical smoothie was ok but it was definitely the smallest smoothie of my life. Even the nachos could be improved considerably. If you want a decent meal, quick service, way way way more generous portions, don’t waste your time coming here; Cubby House in Chinderah will absolutely be a better option.

Sheoak Shack is an eclectic little spot down in Fingal Head. If you haven’t been here yet then get a crack on. The new owners haven’t changed the menu, but they have improved all aspects of it. I just had the best vegetarian burger I’ve ever had, decent size, fresh ingredients and the right amount of satay. It’s the same burger I’ve had under the previous ownership just better. Definitely a five star from me! Sorry the photo is not better I was so hungry I forgot to take photos🤣
