Koala Reserve (Mangrove Boardwalk) is a well-regarded dog-friendly park in Lemon Tree Passage where dogs are welcome on lead. You'll find shaded space nearby.
All Council reserves that are not off-lead or prohibited are dog on-lead areas. Dogs must be under the effective control of a competent person by means of an adequate chain or leash at all times. You are not permitted to walk more than 4 dogs at any one time. Dog owners must remove all dog faeces — fines of $275 apply. Fantastic, shady, peaceful little spot by the water. No toilets nearby and the reserve could do with an electric bbq too!
Nice walk around the bay & through the mangroves. Boardwalks & dirt trails. Plus the chance to see koalas 🐨
Beautiful peaceful walk - well kept easy boardwalk through mangroves and peaceful parks. We spotted a sugar glider but no koalas this time. Was quiet even on a busy day. Easy access to marina and local shops / cafe afterwards. A great visit!
This walk is 5.4km return and is quite leisurely passing through bays and bushes with a cacophony of birds. I did it twice and enjoyed the experience in the afternoon light the best - particularly the Mangrove Boardwalk. It’s well maintained and easy to access with only one small section with steps to climb. Lots of places to just picnic and loiter.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
