What people say
I was just walking through West Pymble and came across an area that used to be a lovely little piece of greenery. There was grass, trees, birds. People would play games with their young children there. One of the former Matildas players actually grew up playing soccer there! This is the corner of Grayling Road and Binalong Street. Now it’s a swampy wasteland of ungainly dirt mounds with foul language (“F-U EVAN”) scrawled into the mud. Just walking through it made me feel sad. Like I was walking through an old tip or an abandoned building site. A sign with a torn bin bag hanging from it, surrounded by rubbish, broken tools, and an abandoned wheelbarrow told me that the council have decided to “experiment” with turning this once peaceful patch into a ‘community-managed’ bike park for kids. Well, looks like the experiment has failed. I can only hope the council will realise that quickly and return the Reserve to its former state - as a RESERVE.
