Dog rules

All Council reserves that are not off-lead or prohibited are dog on-lead areas. Dogs must be under the effective control of a competent person by means of an adequate chain or leash at all times. You are not permitted to walk more than 4 dogs at any one time. Dog owners must remove all dog faeces — fines of $275 apply. A beautiful secluded beach we visited at sunset. Easy parking and a short stroll to this hidden treasure. Saw lots of little jellyfish on the beach at low tide. Not patrolled.

Beautiful beach and lovely just to sit on the beach & take photos. Not a safe place for swimming.

Always love going to this hidden treasure. Always quiet even on a very hot day.

I only parked here to go to the gun emplacements but the start of the walk from here is to the top of the mountain. You can still get to the gun emplacements from here if you do the mountain walk but I didn’t do the walk. You can get to the beach from here which is a short walk. Was a bit confusing with the signs, I thought the track to the beach was the other track to the gun emplacements but that was the beach track. Lots of people thought the same! The other track to the historic site didn’t begin until up the road a bit further. That carpark closer to the start of that track is totally inadequate for how popular this walk seems to be. Very disappointing. The road into this car park is one way in and one way out but you can’t see the way out very clearly and one car and myself made the mistake of going the wrong way! No where to turn around. The signs are not good enough and need to be improved. Need to do better Port Stephens council

Good walk, trees take the suns rays away from you.
