Noreuil Park Foreshore is a well-regarded dog-friendly park in South Albury with plenty of shade. Just 50m away, The River Deck Cafe is a nearby spot to stop in after your walk.
Dogs are welcome on-leash at this park. Under the NSW Companion Animals Act, dogs must be kept on a leash in all public areas except designated off-leash zones. Albury City Council has five designated off-leash areas — visit council's website for locations.
beautiful place to stop and picnic or swim on the drive from Sydney to Melbourne. Dog friendly, beautiful fresh water and a little cafe there if you need it
Nori as the locals call it is a great spot along the bank of the Murray River. With Noreuil Park, sports fields, grassed shady areas, playgrounds and in summer perhaps a float, bring a pool noodle for the most relaxing/safe ride. The River Deck Café is at the Foreshore end and is a nice spot to eat at, if bringing ur own picnic along isnt ur thing.
We originally stayed at Lake Hume Resort, but quickly realized that if you don't have a boat or a jet ski, the options are a bit limited. We only had a floating tube, and the lack of shade at the lake made it difficult to settle in for a full day. Looking for a better swimming spot, we headed into Albury and discovered Noreuil Park—and it completely changed our holiday! Why Noreuil Park was the highlight: * The River Loop: If you have a float or a tube, this is pure magic. We spent hours doing loops down the river; it’s incredibly fun and relaxing. * Perfect Shade: Unlike the lake, the park is beautifully shaded. It’s the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon swim or just sitting on the foreshore with a book. * The Vibe: It has a very laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that we didn't expect. * Amenities: A huge kudos to the Albury Council. The park is impeccably maintained, and the amenities are exactly what you need for a comfortable day out. We ended up driving from Lake Hume to Noreuil Park almost every single day. I had no idea Albury offered such a great swimming experience. If you’re visiting the area and prefer a relaxed, shaded swim over high-speed water sports, skip the lake and head straight to the river!
Good place for families day out, public restrooms, snacks and lots of places and food tables, kids play area and parking
Beautiful place with plenty space of parking and everything. There is public toilet, cafe nearby. BBQ spot to use and plenty table. A lot of big trees that give big shade for you to picnic here. Playground for kids, plenty space to cycle their bikes, play sports and everything. You can swim here too just be aware of their strong current.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
