What people say
Park has cricket nets, bubbler and kids playground. It gets really busy in the evening. Cricket nets are always full. Very popular for evening walking but it is always crowded. It also has synthetic cricket pitch in the middle. Got newly built shed next to kids playground as well. Plenty of parking available.
Recently visited with my kids, something sharp was in the sand at the bottom of the slide and sliced the end of my daughter’s toe off. Had to rush her to the doctors. Also, all the toilets were locked? It was a weekday around 11:30am. Not a great experience for us which was disappointing as it looks like a great park.
Galungara Park in Schofields is a well-designed, family-friendly space with a creative kids’ playground, sandpit, and separate play area. It features cricket practice nets, BBQ facilities, and clean public toilets—perfect for a fun and relaxing day out.
Nice park for kids play and enjoy. Traditional style of the play areas as pathways, sand pits, slide and swings etc. Also there is two picnic tables in the playground. Scenic view of the surroundings like plants, trees, walkways and beautiful greenery of the Galungara Reserve will make you good feelings. A spacious playground for cricket and other activities. Galungara Public School is too near the ground. Well planned washroom facilities available.... good and clean. Ambulant toilet for male and female, shower and change room. Also toilet with LH & Baby change.
Galungara park is a charming venue situated near Jerralong Drive. It's not particularly large, but it has its own unique appeal. The presence of 3 cricket nets adds to its utility. However, it's worth noting that when batting towards Jerralong Drive, there's a chance that the ball might venture beyond the boundary, leading to a brief search among the nearby bushes. One notable feature is the fairly new, if not brand new, turf laid out on the ground, providing a smooth and enjoyable playing surface. However, like mentioned above it's crucial to consider your batting direction. To avoid the risk of losing the ball in the nearby bushes, I'd recommend batting facing the car park (opposite to Jerralong Drive) during your cricket matches. It's worth noting that the ground is in the process of developing basic amenities, so, unfortunately, restroom facilities are not currently available. Excitingly, the ongoing construction for the pavilion is in good shape. We may be able to access the facility in Couple of months time.
