Friendly service from our waiter and the Maitre’d. Our waiter dried an outdoor table for us as we had our French bulldog with us. The outdoor tables have large umbrellas in between the tables which give some shade depending on which part of the table you are sitting at. We started with a lonesome looking croquette stuck on top of a muddy mushroom sauce with only a lemon wedge for company. Taste wise it was slightly odd, but overall not bad. The ragu parpadelle special had nice fresh pasta but for me the Gundagai lamb was the outstanding dish for me. I enjoyed it immensely. It had a lovely lamby flavour. The portion sizes were on the larger side which was a shame as I couldn’t get my own entree and we didn’t feel like a dessert. Overall a very enjoyable meal. Lots of free parking at the hotel. Can highly recommend.
The place itself looks amazing. Beautiful decoration, great atmosphere and a very promising vibe when you walk in. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. We started with the bread, which was actually delicious, and the special of the day, a chorizo with prawns dish, which had very good flavours but arrived burnt. From there, things went downhill. The gnocchi was extremely heavy and too rich to the point of being unpleasant. The duck ragu pasta was honestly terrible. We love pasta and eat it often, but this one had no depth or body in the sauce whatsoever. It barely tasted like duck and genuinely felt like poor quality food. It tasted like something I could make at home ten times better without much effort, which is not what you expect from a restaurant with this level of presentation and pricing. The margarita cocktail was also very disappointing. Too watery, overly citrusy and far too sweet. Completely unbalanced. To be fair, the maître d’ handled the situation well and removed the duck pasta and the margarita from our bill, which we appreciated. The service and ambience were much better than the food itself.
Greeted by the Maître d, as walk-ins on a busy autumn Saturday night, we were graciously accommodated for, Even though the venue was fully booked we were offered a quaint seated bar table to enjoy our dinner meals/drinks by the crackling fireplace. Pianist played live music, wall mounted candle sconce lit up the dimmed space, walls covered in filigree wallpaper, furnished with quality & furnished with Manor old world charm theme. Thankyou for hosting our little date night, very romantic.
The best anniversary dinner we have had in our 26 years of marriage. My cocktail was delicious, our meals perfectly to our tastes & the lemon meringue tart I finished with was the best I’ve ever had. The staff were so lovely. We definitely will visit again & recommend to any family & friends travelling to the area
The staff were amazing. Really nice to talk to. Toby and a young girl ( cannot remember here name) who showed they really cared about people. Food was great. Ricotta dumplings , fish of the day, grilled friutsalad, duck l'orange. Just delicious. Ambience really nice. Thankyou
