49 Cafe Early Bird Epping

Early Bird has been my go-to local cafe for years. The menu is affordable and tasty, the service is quick, and the staff are kind. Given the convenient location at the foot of the station steps, the food does not have to be as good as it is for them to succeed - yet they manage to consistently serve quality. The only downside is that it can be hard to get a table during busy periods - a testament to a beloved local cafe.

I have been to this place twice now and not happy. If you look online they have $12 take away lunch special. The first time I went there to buy take away, I asked if the menu you see in there cafe is there only menu, man responded yes. I asked for a chicken burger for take away, he charged $20.50. I asked if I don't want chips with my burger, what is the price. He said $18.50. I said okay I'll have chips. Then I look online to find the there is a lunch special take away meal for $12. I asked the man when my food was ready if this is your menu showing him $12. He said yes but that is a crispy chicken. Then today, I would give them another go, still not impressed. I asked the guy for the TAKE AWAY SPECIAL of $12 chicken burger, he tried charging me $20.50. I said you have a special online for $12. Then he said oh, you don't want chips, I said no. He charged me $14.50. I said your online has $12 why am I charged $14.50. he said price increased. Food is nice but not going back to them again to be overcharged prices.....quiet annoyed and you have lost a prospective customer 😡

Little noisy from the buses! The service !! And the food .. just get side of mushrooms( seasoned almost to a fault) with your eggs ( poached is my preferred) on toast ( ask them to get the sourdough toast done well browned- my preference ) !! And the coffee is on point too.. can’t really go wrong with Campos!

One of the few cafes open early in Epping you can count on for your morning coffee right by the stairs to Epping station! A few tables outside and inside. Offers ready made quick bites (wraps and sandwiches) as well as brunch menu. I was here for coffee and an almond croissant which was served toasted and was pretty decent.

The prices are genuinely low however their serves are really rich. Their coffee is great and staff are polite and friendly. I think their bacon wraps is the richest in term of ingredient in compare to surrounding cafe. This breakie only cost me $12 but I think it worse way more than $12. Keep up the great work and your generosity. Thank you team.
