Paul Keating Park is a dog-friendly park in Bankstown. Just 250m away, Butter Bear Cafe is a nearby spot to stop in after your walk.
Dogs are welcome on-leash at Paul Keating Park, a Canterbury-Bankstown Council park. Under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs must be kept on a lead and under the effective control of a competent person, and are prohibited within 10 metres of children's play equipment and food preparation areas. Off-leash exercise is permitted only in Council's designated off-leash areas.
Really lovely town square. It can get packed but it's mostly very chilled. Nice seats and places to stroll. Hopefully the park will be greatly expanded with the pedestrianisation of Bankstown Central.
A decent park nearby Bankstown Central and Bankstown train station. There's seats to sit at, a decent playground for your children to play, the public library and a Western Sydney Uni Campus. Could get a 5 if events were more regularly scheduled as its a bit dull otherwise
The playground is actually excellent. It’s a massive climbing tower that provides endless challenge and fun. It’s a little big and high for the under 5 I suggest. But I’ve given it a low rating because the children were all quite a bit older than my 3 and 2 year old and were loud, rowdy, some were very badly behaved with no supervision, and they made the playground quite scary for the smaller ones. Swinging and spinning the equipment way too fast for any smaller children to enjoy. I think some more design thinking about giving the 8yrs+ group a more advanced area and having more dedicated space for the younger ones would be a good idea.
Lovely community space, with large green lawn, sitting areas and playground.
Paul Keating Park is one of the nicest parks in Bankstown, a great place to study, chat, or simply enjoy the scenery while watching children play happily. My friends and I often meet up here too since it’s close to the mall, so we can shop afterwards 😁🫰🏼. Hopefully, everyone who visits will follow the rules by not littering and avoiding smoking carelessly.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
