William Howe Regional Park is a council reserve at Mount Annan with a varied loop trail and pretty views across the Razorback Mountains and surrounding farmland. Dogs are welcome on-leash under effective control. The terrain is a little rocky in places, so it suits a longer, more active walk than a gentle stroll, with BBQ facilities on hand. A scenic spot for a proper on-leash bushwalk.
Dogs must be on a leash at all times in public places except in designated off-leash areas. Dog owners must clean up after their dogs. The maximum number of dogs that may be under one person's effective control is four. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of children's play equipment, food preparation/consumption areas, public swimming pools, schools, kindergartens, sports grounds during organised activities, and wildlife protection areas. The Loop trail takes you on a varied and pretty stroll on a loop walk around William Howe Regional Park. You’ll see farmlands spreading across the Razorback Mountains and to the Blue Mountains escarpment in the distance and up on the hill you’ll pass Turkeys Nest lookout and picnic area, the highest point on the track and a great place to stop for a break or a picnic lunch. From here, the walk heads into the trees, where you’ll forget how close you are to the suburbs as you lose yourself for a little while in nature. The Loop trail is a great walk for children, plus the park is dog-friendly, so you’re welcome to bring your dogs along, provided they’re on a leash.
There has been a fair bit of work done to the track The stairs have been repaired at Mt Annan side making them usable again Nice spot and dog friendly
Nice views, great walk for experienced walkers. Abit too rocky. Alot of bigger dogs off lead. Not for everyone.
Very accessible. Good level walk with an additional loop if you're looking for extra steps. Needs a bit of maintenance on the top wall lookout.
Went for a short walk with the family yesterday when it was somewhat overcast but it was an enjoyable walking wide track which is reasonably steep. Has lovely short stone walls along the incline with the sounds of birds tweeting in the bushes and pretty Monarch butterflies following us for most of our walk. Not a bad view from the top and nice and serene too. Lovely walk to get a bit of cardio and relax in a peaceful environment.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
