Dear manager, I’ve been a customer of this establishment for quite some time, but I’ve decided I won’t be returning. One of the staff members that often serves in the bar section, a shorter dark woman who wears glasses, has repeatedly been rude to me and my family. She has shown impatience and an unprofessional attitude toward customers on multiple occasions. I’m mentioning her description so management can identify who I’m referring to. The people deserve respect and good treatment. See you never! Juan I highly recommend the new Oasis on Bemish instead. The food, atmosphere, and customer service are all noticeably better, and they even have live music!!
Late review, but was a great location, staff were kind and the shared bathrooms were adequate. Rooms had a swipe card key, fan and handy fridge, and selection of teas. 10/10 would stay again!
I came here five years ago with my Chinese wife and was told that it is the same price for a whole night as it is for an hour. This was extremely offensive. Alcohol and food and rooms are reasonably priced so I have continued to come here. I don’t think I’ll ever come back again. I had spicy Beef noodle soup. I’ve tasted more spice in KFC chicken. We came up to our room And found stale takeaway food in the fridge. We went down and told reception and nobody came and removed it. I guess you get what you pay for and when you come here, you don’t pay a lot so you get very little Really, it’s quite disgusting
After seeing all the bad reviews about Campsie Hotel, I felt like I should share what happened to me too. Date: 20/10/25 I went there to play the pokies. When I walked into the gaming room, there was a Lebanese guy playing and holding about 10 machines all by himself. I went to the back and saw a machine that didn’t look reserved — there was just a sign next to it, not on it — so I put $50 in and started playing. One of the staff rushed over and told me that the machine was reserved. I told her I didn’t care and kept playing. Then security came over and asked me to leave the machine as well. A few minutes later, that same guy came over and tried to start a fight with me. He even threatened me. I cashed out my ticket and stayed around looking for him, What shocked me most was that I saw him doing drugs right next to the machine, and the managers and staff just walked past like nothing happened. I tried to record it on my phone, but I was too scared they’d see me. You can check the cameras in the pub — everything’s there. Honestly, I believe the whole place has gone bad and the management needs a serious clean-up. The way things are run there doesn’t reflect the values that support the Australian community and economy. By the way, I know the owner personally — that’s the only reason I didn’t call the police or make a big drama about it.
I went to Campsie Hotel last week to play poker, but they told me there was no poker that night. I thought it was just for one week, so I went back again ,and asked why. The staff said the licensee — I think his name is Mr. Lee or Mr. Bee — decided to stop the poker games because he believed poker players were getting free drinks and not spending much money. That’s not true or fair. I’m one of those players, and I used to spend around $400–$500 every Friday and Saturday on drinks, plus extra on the pokies. My friends and I always supported the venue. He’s not the owner, but his decision makes loyal customers like us feel disrespected. I really hope the owner reads this and brings poker back, because that guy made us look bad for no reason. Also, I’m curious — why do they call him “Mr”? Is he a professor or a doctor? Because from what I saw, he’s just a bartender — and honestly, most pokies players can’t stand him. I also want to mention something I’ve heard from a few people around. Apparently, the licensee’s wife works in the bistro on cash, and his son works in the gaming area. There’s been quite a bit of talk about that — and honestly, it doesn’t look professional for a licensed venue. I hope the hotel management or the real owner checks what’s going on, because many regular customers have noticed and started to talk.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
