We visited Café Saligna and were lucky to arrive when it was still empty, so we could choose where to sit. We picked a table in the sun and asked if one of the umbrellas could be opened for a bit of shade. The waitress told us the umbrellas were broken and couldn’t be used, which we accepted. A few minutes later, another group arrived and sat at the table we had originally wanted — and the same waitress opened the umbrella for them. When we asked about it, he didn’t respond and simply ignored us, which felt quite rude. The food was okay overall. We ordered the Saligna’s Brekky, which was nice, though the mashed avocado looked old and oxidised. When I asked to speak with the manager to provide feedback, the head chef told me (in a rather unfriendly tone) that they don’t have a manager — which was surprising for a café of this size. The service definitely needs improvement, and the outdoor area could use some attention — the chairs were uncomfortable and some furniture was rusted. We didn’t try sitting inside, so can’t comment on that area.

Got a takeaway juice and iced latte after a quick bush walk. Incredibly overpriced for tiny sizes. My juice must have had 250ml of actual juice, 3/4 of the cup was ice. My husband’s iced latte was smaller than standard iced latte size and more expensive than what we’d usually pay. $16 for this purchase. Won’t be buying from here again. The service was decent, the guy at the counter read out all the options to us, however if they had a menu board it would’ve been much easier to read and select our purchase. Bit of a strange setup. Needs a bit of work.

Plenty of empty seats were available, but we still experienced a long wait to be served. The Saligna Brekky (Big Breakfast) was decent, though fairly standard, and the sausage was served halved. The Shakshuka looked nice in the cast iron dish, but it wasn’t sizzling as expected. The babycino also came without a marshmallow, which was a little disappointing. Overall, an okay experience but with room for improvement.

The place looks nice on the outside, but the staff inside looked miserable. Here are the reasons for my low rating. Service: when we came in, we were greeted but my mum wanted to have a look around before seating. The man at the front spoke to her so condescendingly. When he called her back, he said to her in a slow voice as if she did not understand English (I am not implying racism but it did feel like that in a subtle manner). I don’t understand why they required us to wait to be seated when the cafe was relatively empty and we had to order at the counter (front of the shop) anyways. Drinks: the hot chocolate was made with water, topped off with some foam. It was very disappointing… The coffee was very average. Food: we ordered their ‘house made’ granola which turned out to be store bought. Their vegetables were not fresh. But it was probably the better experience out of everything…

Very fitting design on building and has very friendly staff members. The service wasn’t the fastest but the food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Will return as a local restaurant.
