Harry Dennison Park is a dog-friendly park in Rooty Hill with plenty of shade.
Dogs are welcome on-leash at Harry Dennison Park, a Blacktown City Council park. Under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs must be kept on a lead and under effective control, and are prohibited within 10 metres of children's play equipment and food preparation areas. Off-leash exercise is permitted only in Council's designated off-leash areas.
Ground is unacceptable for stage 3 cricket, only 53m boundaries, no nets, no shade and grass is patchy and too thick for balls hit along the ground.
Nice clean park. Quiet. Plenty parking. Toilet usually locked. No extras. Standard oval shaped field. Nice and flat/even. Is nice and quiet. No main roads close by. Trees create shady spots.
The old playground was better in my opinion. It had monkey bars and other physical activities. The new slide doesn't even have steps for little kids. Could have just repainted the old playground and that would have been good enough 🤷♂️
It's great to see it was finally renovated, but honestly, it's still lacking. There needs to be more than 1 round swing. Another set of swings would be good. There's nothing for younger ones to do. A smaller climbing station with a slide and baby swing would be great. A mini bike track would be good also, tracing around the whole park. On the plus side, I absolutely love that it's fence off! Gotta love safety.
The slide has no steps???? So forget 1-5 year olds being able to use the slide. What the hell were they thinking??? Has some other fun it's and pieces, but as usual the slide is always the main attraction for kids. For me when I have my 2 year old, park ruined. Over 6's will have fun here, lqcking for the younger ones in my opinion.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
