Food was poor. Entree was garlic bread and wedges. Garlic bread was a good sized serve but a bit too salty, wedges was a very small serve and were ok. Mains were steak which was just warm, looked grey with a few griddle marks. Vegetables were fine. Mashed potato was like paste and had a bad flavour, was inedible. Grilled chickenr breast was dry and flavourless. Burger was generous with two patties but one was partly raw and the chips were a bit under cooked. .The chef served the food and had no customer service, made no conversation at all, and we were the only table dining in the bistro on the night we went. The bistro was in the sports lounge area and the sports commentary was so loud, we couldn't hear each other talk over dinner. The lady behind the bar was nice and friendly, the only good thing about our visit, which was disappointing as we had hoped to find a new local pub for dinner. Definitely would not eat here again.

Dropped into the King’s Head Tavern early on a Monday public holiday for a quiet lunch before the locals really started rolling in. Had the bangers and mash and honestly couldn’t fault it based on pub food standards, exactly what you want from good, honest pub food. Service was quick, staff were lovely, and the whole place had a cosy feel, like it may have had a recent refresh. Solid menu with plenty of choice and some interesting drink specials being chatted about. I’d happily pop back in if I was in the area again.

Stopped in for a quick drink before heading out for dinner. Great Atmosphere and Wine in a cold glass 👍👍👍 which you never get. Huge plus from me.

The three of us had a rump steak each tonight, and it tasted amazing! Very reliable, friendly, and warm service. Thank you for making our first visit a memorable one. The steak was cooked just right, served with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes. Delicious! Good value for money too. This wasn't a once-off; I'm sure this is just the high standards they uphold. I wish this business all the best in the future. We will be back!
