Gemalla Park is a dog-friendly park in Bonnyrigg where dogs are welcome on lead. Around 1000 metres away, Pritchard's Hotel is a great spot for a post-walk drink.
Dog rules
Dogs must be under the effective control of a competent person at all times (maximum 4 dogs per person). Dogs must be on a lead when outside designated off-leash areas. Dog owners must dispose of dog droppings in the bins provided. Dogs declared menacing, dangerous, or a restricted breed are prohibited in off-leash areas. This park is absolute rubbish! The play equipment is so dated. I never see any kids on it and any mulch that was used on the ground has since disappeared due to the elements that it's created a considerable distance between the bottom of the slide, stairs and ladder. People basically come to this park to drink and then smash their glass bottles making it difficult for any parent wanting to entertain their kids. The entire space needs a makeover, including the community centre which looks like a drug den.. what a waste of public space.
