Peter Van Hasselt Park is a dog-friendly park in Shalvey where dogs are welcome on lead. You'll find toilets nearby.
Dogs are welcome on-leash at Peter Van Hasselt Park, a Blacktown City Council park. Under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs must be kept on a lead and under effective control, and are prohibited within 10 metres of children's play equipment and food preparation areas. Off-leash exercise is permitted only in Council's designated off-leash areas.
The park is blocked off in the daytime time, you can park in the roadside car parks but have no access to the main part of the park where all the facilities are. I've been in there before, there is a toilet block & playing fields - plenty of parking & space. No shops.
There are soccer fields base ball diamonds a nice park to take my dogs for a walk through occasionally seeing kangaroos lazing in the sun some where to ride my bike. A bbq area would be nice.
Baseball field in dire need of good drainage put in. Some better signage near the fire station would be good also.
Pretty average field. One corner of the pitch is super slippery. Google maps sends you to the far side of the park. Many people passed it before they realised that that was the correct location.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
