Harold Read Park is a dog-friendly park in Girraween.
Dogs are permitted on-leash under the NSW Companion Animals Act. Cumberland City Council's Companion Animals Policy states dogs must be under effective control and on a leash in all public places except designated off-leash parks. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of playgrounds, food preparation areas, sports fields, school grounds, and wildlife protection areas. This venue is not a designated off-leash park. Not very busy, Got in park and on road parking, Nets are just ok , but not full mat so balls go bad quick. Odd shaped so square boundaries are less than 50 and straight around 70s.
It is a very spacious park good for walking pets because there is a large fences area. There is a small play area. Barely any people who go there except for sports training. The toilet facilities are usable although not too great.
Huge playground, good for any sport. Restroom facilities are available. Swings, slides and bars are near the playground. Benches are under covered area .
Nice park but for some reason the local government allowed a park and multiple industrial factories to be neighbouring. Often you can smell toxic (cancerous) fumes, solvents and industrial paints when you are trying to get a breath of fresh air. Other times its the foul stench of the nearby chicken factory. Some inconsiderate slobs also leave garbage on the field from time to time. Otherwise nice and fairly quiet. People are usually friendly and inoffensive here.
Nice field but can smell like dead chickens from the nearby Cordina Farms factory. Has cricket nets in the corner.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
