I ventured out to Toronto after reading online about people setting up fake accounts and leaving 1 star reviews. I am so glad I did because I had the most beautiful morning there. I was greeted upon arrival by a lovely happy lady clearing a table. I had seen their home made potato Rosties online and absolutely had to try them, so I had the eggs Benedict. I couldn’t decide between bacon a halloumi, so I had both 😂 there was a very slight misunderstanding at the counter and I ended up with salmon instead of halloumi (keep in mind halloumi wasn’t an option, it was an extra, so I added to the confusion there) I was too busy admiring their coffee machine to pay attention to the order when it was read back to me. But I went back inside and the lady that served me was so good about it. Took the plate straight away and had it fixed up for me. We are all human, we all make mistakes, its how it is dealt with that makes the difference and these ladies here are amazing. The lady who I’m assuming is the owner even came out to double check that everything was fixed up correctly and that I had the order that I wanted. I enjoyed an oat piccolo which was made perfectly while I sat outside soaking up the morning sun and lake views. I also love that they have outdoor toys for the kids! My kids would have loved it here when they were younger. I would also like to note that one of the obviously fake accounts on here said they were hassled to leave a review. I was not once asked to leave a review while I was there, I simply saw a post asking if people who have previously dined here could leave a review due to what happened. As a fellow cafe owner who has also had a couple of fake reviews left, I wanted to come out and show my support as a customer and leave a genuine review on my experience which really was a 10/10. It’s such a beautiful area out here and I will definitely be back.

Great coffee with the best bacon and egg roles I've ever tasted. Add a variety of fresh baked muffins with an original flare that never disappoint. Beautiful lake views from outside with friendly service make this my go to cafe...always.

Local favourite Doubletake cafe has generous portion sizes at resonable prices with fresh ingredients and great coffee. Meal designs and plating up is done with intention and pride. I love that they change the menu and have interesting specials to offer variety. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. A nice lakeside spot that truly delivers!!

Once I find a cafe i really like I like it can be hard for me to change. But today I was so happy with double take in Toronto. Ordered the eggs Benedict my all time breakfast menu item, BUT WAIT… it’s not just a normal eggs Benedict, it’s on a homemade rosti. The staff are so friendly, they can be seen working so hard. When they have no customers they are cleaning, re stocking, even the chef was refilling the drinks fridge. That’s Team work!!! I told the lady I was so happy and it takes me a lot to change but I was so happy and will definitely be back.
