What a great local cocktail bar. So good now it’s winter, easy uncover parking, no CBD hassles. Cocktails were fun , staff really nice, great share plates

As a local wedding Celebrant, I had the pleasure of performing a wedding at this great little spot on Sunday the 28th of January. And it was set up ideal for a small intimate wedding and the staff were super professional and very friendly to accommodate the guests.

Bartega is located on first floor in Canterbury Leagues Club. They serve high tea (traditional, sparkling, cocktail) - we had the traditional (i.e. no alcohol). Finger sandwiches (smoked salmon, egg & avocado, turkey & cranberry with cheese, roast beef & rocket), scones, pastries & macarons... Generally, haven't had a 100% enjoyable high tea - today wasn't the exception. Sandwiches had a lot of butter (& I like butter but...) & bland. Not sure about browning avocado in the egg sandwich... The avocado doesn't add anything to an egg sandwich especially when the sandwich is under seasoned & browning avocado doesn't appeal. Sweets were sweet ... Macarons had a lovely crisp shell & chewy centre... Vibrant colours but no distant flavours... Just sweet. Pastries (almond croissant, chocolate croissant & blueberry danish) seemed stale & quite dry. A variety of tea to opt for (English breakfast, green tea, Earl Grey, chamomile) which is refilled which was a nice surprise (a lot of high tea offerings no longer provide bottomless refills). Exceptional service from Tony which was the highlight of our visit. A lovely atmosphere & suspect it would be an enjoyable bar experience... Skip the high tea.

Lovely highend bar tucked away in the upstairs corner of Bulldogs club. Felt like I was in the city CBD or town hall. Lovely cocktails and great service. All that jazz was amazing. The flaming galah could have been colder. Will try their minicocktails next time. Hopefully they will update their cocktail list every few months.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Bartega! This bar is truly fantastic, and I can’t recommend it enough. The Flaming Galah is a must-try; it’s a delightful cocktail that involves a bartender lighting up some cinnamon, resulting in a delicious and unique flavor. The tuna was also incredibly tasty, a perfect complement to the cocktails. I must mention the bartender, who was highly skilled in mixology! Their skills and creativity made the whole experience even more enjoyable. And the best part? You get to enjoy high end city cocktails at very reasonable prices, making it a wonderful value for the quality of drinks. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. It’s a gem of a bar, and I can’t wait to explore more of their cocktails. Five stars, without a doubt!
