Toongabbie Hotel is a pub in Toongabbie with an outdoor area. Dog access isn't confirmed, but venues with an outdoor area are often dog friendly, so it may be worth checking. Just 500m away, Ron Hill Park is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
We had a great experience here in March 2024, which made my recent experience really disappointing. In 2024, the manager was genuinely family-focused. We were allowed to sit in the outdoor area with our kids, the “no eating” signs were turned to “no smoking,” and we were told many local families regularly used the outdoor space for family dinners while their kids played on the fake grass. There was even talk of adding kids’ activities to make the venue more family-friendly. Nearly two years later, it feels like things have gone backwards. It’s annoying for everyone sitting in a pub to have kids come in and make normal kid noise, which is exactly why we only take our children to venues with designated kid-friendly areas. We don’t want to sit inside pubs where the carpet smells like bourbon and beer, and where you can smell the pokies room wafting through every time the door opens. During my recent visit we were forced to eat inside with no flexibility, despite the outdoor area being empty. The food was also a let-down — last time the rissoles were delicious, but this time they tasted cheap and lacked flavour. Disappointing to see both the service and food go downhill. Unfortunately, we won’t be back.
The staff were good, the location is very accessible. Except for this cockroach they stay would have been perfect. Also, maybe a suggestion to include like hair drier in the shared toilet as well as slipper that can be use during shower.
The staff at the Toongabbie Hotel are absolutely the best. the establishment is truly lucky to have such a friendly and professional team. The outdoor area is excellent, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a good meal. Speaking of which, the crispy barramundi is to die for. Hands down the best I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely be frequenting this place a lot over summer. More power to the team! See you soon!!👏👏
Good food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. Nice place to relax and unwind with friends. Raych is good in customer service
I recently stayed at Toongabbie and unfortunately the condition of the room was very disappointing. There was a strong smell that resembled vomit as soon as I walked in. The bath was already full of water when I arrived, and there were cigarette butts all over the bathroom floor and in the bath area. What was worse is that the next day the water was still sitting in the bath and the cigarette butts had not been cleaned up. The cleanliness and maintenance really let the place down. On a positive note, the staff at the front desk were genuinely lovely friendly, polite, and helpful. They were the only highlight of the stay. With proper cleaning and attention to hygiene, this place could improve a lot.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
