Pub staff, young, friendly, but clueless, especially with Guinness pouring. (Apart from the trainee). Venue and vibe decent. Food quality poor: dry, overcooked dishes - cremated pizzas, overcooked Barra/Salmon, undercooked chips. Not ideal . Okay for a casual drink if food quality isn't a concern. Has Potential

I've visited this lovely place quite a few times over the last five years, as I work nearby. The food is nice, the service is good, but what's happened with the salads lately? They used to be full of chicken or lamb, plus lots of salad veg, but the other day my lamb salad ($26) was mostly a mound of lettuce, with only a few little bits of lamb! How disappointing. Please up your game, chef, and restore the Doncaster to the wonderful place to eat that it once was. Bring back the tasty salads, or perhaps lower the price.

This is the place to go if you want hot looking bar girls fumble about trying to pour a beer. They blast beer straight into the glass and build up a 6 inch head they then pour down the sink and have a second go where it overflows and dribbles down their hands. Guarantee that your beer will be flat In two minutes.

Pizzas are packaged/premade and not made to order, we asked for extra mushrooms and the girl behind the bar told us they were bought in and all packaged - not suggesting they are frozen but… they taste like an average frozen pizza from the supermarket, tasteless The toppings are poor quality and very minimal and did not taste fresh, base was stodgy and very dry like a supermarket pre made cheap base. Pretty tasteless Wouldn’t bother, very poor quality

I visited after The Everest, so I understand it was likely one of their busiest days of the year, but that doesn’t excuse the experience I had. I waited in line for food for 30 minutes at the bar, as there was no separate queue for food. This meant being shoulder to shoulder at the bar with large groups of very intoxicated 18-year-olds, which was far from enjoyable. We ordered chicken parmigianas for the table, and after a long day at the races, I was really looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, what arrived was disappointing. The cheese wasn’t even fully melted, and the chicken was barely lukewarm. It was clear the meals had just been microwaved. It felt like they were rushing to push out orders rather than taking care with the food. To top things off, when leaving, one security guard directed us to a different exit, only for the second guard to send us straight back to the first. It was disorganised and frustrating, a fitting end to the experience. Would never eat a meal here again and would be encouraging anyone else to be looking elsewhere.
