Old George and Dragon

We walked up the red carpet and stepped straight into enchantment. The new George and Dragon feels like a small leap back in time — to a gentler, less garish age of grace, comfort, and unhurried conversation. Jason (the owner) and his son Nicholas greeted us warmly, and as we took it all in we couldn’t help but smile. The place has clearly been rebuilt with meticulous attention to detail — the kind you can’t fake — and while I could describe the visual charm, you really do need to visit to feel it properly. My wife and I had a wonderful meal: three platters and a bottle of excellent Pinot Noir, plus a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was spot-on — duck spring rolls, salt-and-pepper squid, and sweet potato croquettes — all beautifully done. And there’s more here than just dinner. The whisky selection, in particular, is superb, and they take real pride in it. This was a thoroughly enjoyable interlude — more than a meal — and we’ll absolutely be back.

Finally went to try the cocktails at The Old George. A great place to hold a party or just a quiet night with a few cocktails. Jason has created the best venue in the area by far. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is delicious and Nicks cocktails are the best! Especially the French Martini’s. Thanks for a great night and we will see you again soon. Highly recommend you stop by for a drink or three.

We had our engagement party here, and absolutely loved it. The food was great, and the service from Jason, Nic and the team was amazing. They got around to talk to everyone and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The whole lead up to the event and the night itself was seamless thanks to them, and we got to sit back and enjoy it. All our friends were so impressed with everything too. Would highly highly recommend!!

I celebrated my engagement with close friends here on Friday night. Booking for a larger group was very easy, Jason replied to my message promptly. The vibe is classy and inviting. Jason and his staff really look after you. There were a range of amazing cocktails to try. This is hands down one of the best venues in our area to connect with friends and enjoy each others company with amazing drinks and food. I can’t wait to come back again. Thanks again for an amazing night!

My husband and I had a date night at The Old George And Dragon last night and we can’t wait to come back. The cocktails were spot on, the food was cooked perfectly and the staff and atmosphere was just magical. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who made it feel like you were enjoying a drink with a best friend. 10/10 recommend this place to anyone!! Date night, boys night out, fits all occasions.
