Not a bad little pub staff are usually quite friendly don’t take it personal about the three stars for your food services the food is fair just a shame there’s not more of a menu to order from besides finger foods free soft drinks is a plus and vip food service for patrons and pokie players is fair.👌💪🙌👏🔥💯

My go to for a quiet drink! The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. I’ve never had any issues and will continue to come back!

This “pub” has a bizarre policy that any person entering the venue as part of a group is only allowed a single drink each and then they must leave. When I politely asked for clarification on this policy, an older male member of staff was extremely rude and confrontational towards me, with ultimately no reasons given for refusal of service. If I could give this place 0/5 I would. I plan to avoid it from now on and I would advise that you do the same unless you want to put your life savings through a gaming machine in the quietest place in Maitland with the most aggressive staff. For context: * The group that I was in consisted of around 20 people, both men and women all between the ages of 30-40. * It was 9pm on a Saturday night. The entire venue was empty except for those playing the pokies. We were happy about this as we were looking for a quiet place for a drink and a chat. * Nobody in the group was intoxicated or behaving poorly. Nobody was refused service upon entry. * Apparently upon entry some of the group were informed that they would be required to leave after 1 drink. I was not aware of this at the time as I hadn’t entered the venue with this part of the group, I walked in later. * After about 20 minutes I had finished my drink so I approached the bar in order to buy another, and I was instantly yelled at by an older male member of staff with a ponytail. He repeatedly asked if I “spoke English”, as I was unaware of the announcement he had made about the “1 drink” policy. He gave absolutely no clarification as to why this policy was in place or what size groups this applied to or anything else. He even threatened to physically remove me from the venue, when I was doing nothing but calmly questioning their policies. * After the old man got annoyed with the conversation and stormed off, a younger member of staff spoke to me and was very pleasant to talk to. He still couldn’t really explain the policy, but he was very calm and collected so props to him for that and for not being someone looking to escalate things for no reason. The owners of this venue should honestly be ashamed. Experiences like this offer nothing positive to the local community. You are only catering to gamblers, to the exclusion of basically everyone else. It wouldn’t take much to just run a business that is a little bit more welcoming and at least makes a genuine attempt to operate in a way that makes you worthy of your Liquor Licence and your prominent location in a really nice town.
