The OrangeTree - Licensed Cafe By The River

Beautiful little cafe, backs onto the river under the shade of an Orange tree and open deck. Food was very generous and fresh loved it. Staff were so lovely and friendly will definitely be back. Butterscotch banana pancakes could shared between 2. Yummo!!

You cannot access from the river side as the gate is continually locked leaving you uninvited at the rear. The customer service was exceptional throughout the duration of our experience and at tentative when it unexpectedly rained. The creativity of the food was very standard and simply basic, exactly what you’d expect when ordering BUT the value for money does not match. Locals may assume this is a standard though local competition and tourists worn agree and the presentation needs to enhance or you’re simply too comfortable in your cooking role.

Went in for a coffee at 1.30pm an hour before they shut at 2.30pm Sat out the back with the river view but it was spoilt by the girl clearing tables and chairs away at 1.35pm She seemed to deliberately bang and clang around stacking the chairs noisily so you couldn’t hear a conversation over the noise! If they didn’t want us to sit out the back they could’ve told us that that area was closed from 1.30pm but they didn’t and served the coffee without a word! It’s such a shame since the coffee was good but I doubt we’ll return due to the atmosphere!

Service was fine and atmosphere wasn't too bad but the food has gone down hill a great deal since last time we were there. Ordered a scotch fillet medium rare was cooked well done and soggy with a weird smell. Very disappointed.

A pleasant surprise today, my wife and I had lunch here and it was very nice. I had the deluxe chicken burger with chips and it was delicious, and the portion was huge. The chicken was crunchy and juicy and it had the right amount of everything on it. Chips were very well cooked too My wife had the chicken schnitzel and smoothie and said both were great. Neither of us finished our meals as the portion size is very generous. Will definitely be back!
