Palace Hotel since 1877 is a pub in Haymarket with outdoor seating. It hasn't yet been confirmed as dog-friendly, so it's best to check with the venue before visiting.
Great service, although very busy just prior to a show at the capital theatre . Chicken schnitzel was very good, as was the fish and chips. Both reasonable priced basic pub tucker. The place was rocking, people everywhere, and the service was great, very fast. If you have a few to drink and need the toilet, take a sober person with you. The steps down to the loo are steep.
Located at 730-742 George Street, Haymarket, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 My friends and I came here for dinner before a show at the Capital Theatre 🎭. I was not overly impressed. I had the chicken schnitzel and chips. It was average at best but not the worst I’ve had. It’s in an ideal location which makes it really convenient if you’re going to a show but I am sorry to say that’s all it really has going for it. The toilets are down stairs so it’s not really set up for people with mobility issues ie wheelchairs. The staff really need to learn about a facial expression called a smile 😊, it’s not that hard. The prices are pretty good not too expensive. I don’t think I would come back. Thumbs Down👎👎👎
An old pub very near the markets. Featuring indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and a decent menu this place provides new tastes in an old traditional setting. It is definitely not to be missed. I went with the traditional chicken parm - it was good. All I can really say is come hungry as the portions are quite generous and the food is good enough that you will keep eating well after you have filled up.
I haven't tried the food here, but it's a good place to have a cold beer and hang out with friends.
I visited Palace Hotel last week and had a fantastic night! I had a lovely glass of wine while my friend enjoyed a couple of beers. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively – perfect for catching up and unwinding after a long day. The staff were friendly and the service was smooth all night. We ended up staying until 3 AM just chatting and enjoying the vibe – it’s the kind of place where time flies without you realizing. The interior has that classic pub charm, with a cozy yet vibrant feel. It’s definitely a great spot if you’re in the Haymarket area and looking for a place to chill with good drinks and good company. Highly recommend it – would absolutely go back again!
