My partner and I stayed in the accomodation at Mortdale Hotel and honestly we were very surprised, the rooms were renovated about a year ago and they are great! Clean, tidy and spacious. Our room came with TV to watch netflix, YouTube, etc and aircon worked well to keep the room cool. The bed was EXTREMELY COMFY. Very soft like sleeping on a cloud. The service from staff was really nice and they were happy to assist us however we needed. Yes, the location is a touch far from the CBD but you have the train station just across the road and takes about half hour train to Sydney Station and the trains are not loud at all so you can get a good night's sleep. Though the location is a bit out of the way you have some really great cafes for brunch just down the street and restaurants for dinner, there's a local IGA and BWS aswell so really you have practically everything a stones throw away. Considering you have a pub underneath you, you cannot hear the noise whatsoever and we were extremely happy with that. Honestly we were very happy with our room and at the price point in Sydney, we recommend anyone to stay here and if you dont mind catching a train to the city it really is such a great hotel to stay in.

Disappointing experience on the gaming floor. I stepped outside to take a phone call and returned to find the $30 in credits I had on the machine were gone. Management reviewed CCTV and confirmed I was the player, but refused any refund because the reserve button wasn’t pressed. I understand procedures exist, but there was zero goodwill or customer-focused resolution offered. I’ve also previously had a phone go missing at this venue, which was reported to police at the time. The response I received then was similarly unsupportive, which adds to the overall feeling that customer care isn’t a priority here. The issue isn’t really the money — it’s the lack of empathy and flexibility. Just something for patrons to be aware of.Disappointing experience on the gaming floor. If you find a friendler pub in the suburbs I want to no about it plenty of space for a good drinking session with friends or a quiet punt by yourself . friendly staff and a beautiful friendly area .I'm a local but believe me even if I wasn't I'd travel to have a few beers heer .been popping in for a feed a punt for over 10 years and never had a argument or seen one patrons are polite . plenty of smoking room .away from non smokers and mon to wensday 22dollar feeds with a schooner included can't beat that .

The location is perfect, just right next to the train station. Though the accommodation is right above the pub, it was very quiet except for the faint sound of passing trains. The staffs were all very accommodating and friendly. Many eateries and convenience shops and laundromat nearby, making everything accessible

Popped in there for lunch. Staff were very helpful. The food was good. Place was clean. Surprised how many poker machines were there. Wanted more seating area to enjoy lunch. Would go back again, but maybe just to enjoy a beer.
