Decent country pub with tasty food and good portions for the weary traveller. It was Parma night and they didn’t disappoint. Best of all this pub is proudly dog friendly! Our boxer Hugo made lots of friends offering a pat :)
Great food. The chefs know what they’re doing. The barramundi was cooked to perfection, with nice crispy skin and flesh that wasn’t overcooked. The porchetta was beautifully cooked with good crackling and parsnip puree. The staff were friendly with excellent service. Lovely place for dinner.
17 mths of living in Parkes and I still love this place. Friendly and welcoming staff, great food and cold beer what more could you ask for? I often get it delivered as I’m at work and it never takes too long
I had the butter chicken and it left a lot to be desired. I know, I know.. having a curry at a pub is and expecting it to be good is a lot to ask. But it was honestly worse than that! It was more like a spicy soup with chicken in it and the rice was…….bad! Can’t really comment on the atmosphere as it was a weekday evening, the girls behind the bar were very pleasant and friendly though.
This is an expensive pub restaurant. I ordered the bruschetta for $15, and the photo shows what I got. It tasted quite nice, but I didn't feel like I got value for my money. They could have at least garnished the plate. The second picture is of how I did brushetta for $14. I also ordered the Balinese vegetable curry, which was deliciously full of flavor, but lacked somewhat in that it was mostly sauce, and not many veggies. A biggie that detracted from my dining experience was that 1.5 minutes after I got my brushetta, the buzzer was going off for me to collect my main. Crikey, I hadn't even finished my first slice, and I couldn't ignore the buzzer as it kept on going off. Ok, all in all, the food's quite tasty, but they're charging Sydney prices. Gee, their specials card had no starters under $22.
