Ordered 2 coffees and 2 breakfast. Coffees arrived cold. Then waited 45 minutes for meals while watching others who arrived after us eating their meals. After enquiring for a second time, only one meal was brought out and waited another 10 minutes for the second one, which was cold??? Terrible experience. Will not recommend this place to others.

What a lovely cafe and bar located a hop skip and a jump away from shellharbour Harbour. Quite fitting really when Badu is translated to "water" in the local Aboriginal language. Great contemporary design to the place with local Aboriginal style artwork being showcased on the walls by Rachel Stephen. The eggs Benedict hit the spot and was exactly what I was looking for, such a generous serve of salmon also. My friend had the egg and bacon roll with tomato relish. He very much enjoyed it. Coffee came out hot with the best latte art I have seen. Thank you, Craig, Sarah, and Toby. What a lovely family to cater to the locals of shellharbour village. Ps. Did I forget to mention they also have a licenced bar for beer and cocktails. How awesome.

Good coffee, terrible food and hit and miss service! Really wanted to like this place. The reviews seemed good (but minimal), however that really wasn’t our experience. The coffee was great, but the food was terrible. We waited 45 mins (the restaurant was less than half capacity at 11am on a Sunday), our burger paddies were overcooked, chard and hard halloumi, the coconut noddle salad was 90% noodle, with overcooked and minimal chicken, and undercooked hard sweet potato. When we asked where our food was up to after 45 mins, we were told we’d ordered after a ‘mass of orders’…no apology and a restaurant less than half full. Our daughter’s pineapple square never arrived, but frankly we couldn’t be bothered anymore and left.
