We took our kids here as a special food adventure and this restaurant completely exceeded our expectations. The food and service were outstanding. It felt as though the wait staff instinctively understood what we were trying to create for our children and took genuine care to explain each dish in a way that made it exciting and approachable. The kids could not resist trying everything. The team were engaging, patient and attentive, checking in at just the right moments and taking subtle cues from us so as not to interrupt or spoil the experience. They encouraged the children to take control, which made the meal feel both empowering and fun. It is rare to find a restaurant that is not only exceptional in its food and service, but also so thoughtful and welcoming towards children. This was a truly special experience and we will absolutely be back! Highly recommended. Special mention to James and the female waitress whose name I unfortunately missed. You took this experience from good to fabulous! (Thank you for not serving the steak well done as request by the kids)

Was highly anticipating Mode as other friends went in Winter 2024 and said it was amazing and unforgettable. Came with these friends and it was not as great. Wondering if the chef's have changed. Daily commentary bread - nice, the lemon olive oil was surprisingly nice. We asked for butter Wood roasted scallops - best dish Kingfish crudo - taste like fruit punch, I liked it but others didn't 1.3kg dried aged tomahawk - was okay, had better Confit crispy potato - good Sugarloaf cabbage - rather of ordered more confit crispy potato They gave us a cute birthday mini desserts selection About $440 with drinks for 3 people

Order and pick up the cake, it is in high quality and creative. The last steps of the cake make was happened by the time I get there result in great quality control. And they serve me a seat and water when I'm waiting so that's great service

We had complimentary breakfast at Mode while staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. The restaurant was extremely crowded most mornings, and the staff appeared overwhelmed, leading to long waits to be seated (often 15+ minutes). Service felt disorganized, with coffee frequently arriving after the food, sometimes only after follow-ups. While the food itself was fine, the overall breakfast experience did not match the high standards expected.

I arrived in Australia with a list of priorities, but clearly, my planning skills were subpar. Saving Mode Kitchen & Bar for the final leg of my trip was a strategic error of the highest order. The Christmas buffet managed to be both sophisticated and deeply satisfying. Every member of the staff operated with a level of precision that made the evening feel seamless. While the main courses were excellent, the desserts are legitimate works of art that almost feel like a crime to consume. If you are visiting Sydney, do not make my mistake. Start here first.
