What people say
Zey is the perfect back-up when our regular work café is closed over the holiday season – and honestly, sometimes we go just for the change of scenery. Situated right on busy Queen Street, it's got a local buzz and a steady stream of loyal customers for a reason. The good: The coffee is consistently great, and service is fast and friendly. It’s become a bit of a go-to for locals who want something quick but quality. The standout: The gozleme – absolutely the best. Fresh, flavourful, and perfect every time. It’s the kind of thing you end up craving mid-morning even if you’ve already eaten. The not-so-good: Outdoor seating is limited and fills up quickly – especially during peak times. You’ve got to get in early if you want to nab a seat. It’s also on a busy street so not always the quietest spot to sit and chat. Would I return? Always. Whether our regular café is open or not, Zey is a reliable and delicious option. The verdict: A hidden gem on Queen Street with unbeatable gozleme and a neighbourhood vibe. Look out for the evil eyes in the tree – a cute little detail that makes the place feel special.
Avoid. Two stars is actually very very generous. Service is not good, slow and not attentive. Food was below basic and lacking actual listed ingredients. Lamb gozleme was devoid of lamb and was $23.5 (what a hack)… and don’t get me started on the smoothies…. Worst I’ve had full stop, yuck!! And $13. It gets two stars because it’s a good spot to sit! Edit, had to change to 1 star, never checked in didn’t ask how things where at payment. Nothing, made you feel like and inconvenience. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
Forgot our order, one of us got the wrong food, another had their food forgotten and only got to eat when the rest of us were done (no one finished their meal), no apology was offered. it was over priced and terrible quality, with cheap ingredients and poor cooking ability. Better and cheaper cafes with higher quality food and ingredients in the heart of the cbd, which is wild! I being a Sydney local would describe this place as a tourist trap. Don’t waste your money.
I had an amazing experience at Zey! The cupcakes were absolutely delicious, soft, fresh, and full of flavor. I tried the matcha, and it was perfectly balanced, smooth, and refreshing. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the presentation is just delightful. If you're looking for a sweet treat and a relaxing spot to enjoy your drink, this is the place to be! Highly recommended!
Lovely Turkish cafe in a bustling but quaint area. It’s got a great neighborhood vibe, many locals and regulars coming in and out. Staff were personable and pleasant. The burek was delicious. Would return
