The waiting staff are great, however the food is very sub standard. We waited more than an hour for two meals to arrive, which were cold and inedible, and the restaurant was only about 20 percent capacity. The quality of the beef is terrible, which may sometimes indicate an inferior supplier issue, however when a freshly cooked steak comes out cold and the potato mash is like wallpaper glue, it’s a strong indicator that the chef is incompetent or couldn’t care less, leaving it to the waiting staff to justify their inability to do what they’re paid for. Very disappointing as Babbingtons was once a nice place to eat good quality food.

Have come to Newcastle for an early morning appointment. Thought I'd eat onsite as I missed lunch and was starving. My meal arrived piping hot, tasty, filling. Really hit the spot. Enjoyed a glass of wine waiting. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Thank you Rani

We had a wonderful experience at Babbingtons Bar & Grill during our New Year’s Eve dinner and breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were the perfect complement to the meals. The atmosphere was warm and festive, making it a truly special way to celebrate the occasion. The staff were so kind and friendly. Special thanks to Jemima for her friendly and attentive service!

Lovely Christmas in July lunch on a quiet Friday. Minimal seating in foyer and no bar to wait for the restaurant to open at 12. Pleasant staff and affordable prices for our set menu $49.50 for 3 courses. Entree scallops, deep fried Camembert cheese and Thai fish cakes. Mains- Barramundi, crispy pork belly and a vegetarian option. Tasty desserts available 😋

First time visiting Babbingtons and did not know what to expect. Service was outstanding, all staff super friendly and attentive. Food was flavourful and delicious. Only a minor thing was my steak was not cooked how I requested (med.rare) and it was a little dry. Would definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.
