The staff Dave mentioned that this RSL has introduced a new policy prohibiting guests from bringing their own bags. It’s quite inconvenient and makes visiting the club less appealing.

My mates and I usually meet on Wednesdays for dinner, and after trying many restaurants and pubs in the area, the Forestville RSL easily comes out on top. Wednesday is Asian night, and for me, the Chicken and Prawn Laksa is a solid 10/10. As a group of older blokes who are a bit hard of hearing, we appreciate that we can actually have a conversation without shouting or needing hearing aids. There are plenty of seating options — lounge chairs, standard tables, or bar stools — so there’s something for everyone. And with happy hour from 5–6 PM, it’s great value all round.

I have been here so many times but I would have to say that this lunch today was extremely disappointing to say the least. The Mongolian sizzling lamb was bland and not sizzling, the chilli prawn linguine was gray and looked like a $2 cup of noodles. We have previously had the Mongolian lamb before and it was delicious but this time was just awful. If this was my first time eating here I would never return again. Perhaps they have a different cook on today- I don’t know but I would not recommend this restaurant today.

I've been here a few times with friends and family. Today, we ordered the Beef Nachos and the Mushroom & Halloumi Burger and they were amazing as always. I am greatly disappointed by their laksa. Though it had most of the components needed for a laksa, the soup was very salty and barely had coconut milk/cream, which is a key ingredient. I've had the laksa a few months prior to this experience and it was good then, not sure what happened this time around. Overall, they have great food for a reasonable price and service is amazing! Lovely staff who are always there to help.

Ordered the fish and chips. Was around $20 so was expecting more on the plate. The fish tasted mostly of batter and it was obviously not the most high quality fish. Would recommend ordering something else, maybe the burgers or Asian food. The redeeming factor was the overall atmosphere.
