Mestizo Bar and Latin Cuisine

Mestizo Bar Restaurant was the best choice to celebrate my sister’s wedding day. It was a special celebration just for family and close friends, and the staff were truly the stars of the event. The organization of the venue was excellent, the food was absolutely delicious, and the margaritas are highly recommended! Everything ran according to the scheduled timing, and the downstairs space was perfect for sharing and enjoying the moment with our group. Thank you so much to the entire Mestizo team for your support, help, and organization in making our event so special.

We were grateful to be able to have a table at the back by the windows as it was a particularly hot day and it was quite warm in the rest of the restaurant. The marranitas de chicharron was delicious (though I do like plantain anyway). The fish tacos and birria tacos were also delicious though at the time of ordering we were told we could have a serving of four tacos instead of three for easier sharing, however it seems that option was forgotten as only three came to the table. Be aware that the birria tacos will take more time to come to the table than the rest of the dishes. I preferred the fish tacos over the birria. Lovely food and friendly service. Beers are much better value during their Happy Hour.

I reckon this is the best colombian food in Sydney. We went there in a weekend to have some beers and food. We started with the empanadas. Very flavourful, nice crust and good sizes. Then we ordered food, I had a rice dish and my wife had the patacon pisado. Both full of flavour and great execution. I recommend this place. The only downturn is the service that is a bit slow.

Absolutely loved this place! The food is incredibly delicious, full of authentic Latin American flavor and made with so much care. But what truly makes this restaurant stand out is not just the amazing dishes, but also the warm atmosphere and outstanding customer service. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. The vibe is relaxed, vibrant, and perfect for enjoying a great meal with friends or family. I highly recommend it, both the food and the experience are exceptional.

Highly recommended! The service is 10/10 — the staff is incredibly kind, always smiling, and very attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. The lulo juice with water was absolutely delicious: super refreshing and full of flavor. We also tried the birria nachos, which were really good and came in a generous portion — perfect for one person, or for two if you don’t eat much. We ended up super full. For my cousin’s birthday, they surprised us with a complimentary cake and even sang Happy Birthday, which was such a sweet and thoughtful detail. It really shows how much they care about their customers. Overall: great food, amazing service, and little details that make the experience special. Totally recommended! ❤️
